College/Career Center

The Career Center is a unique environment within Newtown High School that has the resources to provide students with help in exploring their career and college options.  The Career Center is located in a section of the School Counseling Office.  The staff of the Career Center, Mrs. Peg Ragaini and Mrs. Kitty Latowicki, are committed to working with students on a one-to-one basis to promote self-discovery through real world experiences.  The goal is to aid students in developing a plan for the future.

The number of students involved in the Career Center Programs continues to grow as students realize how invaluable career knowledge and exploration is in helping them to make better choices for their future.  At a time in their lives when students are struggling to find a direction, a helping hand from a caring adult in the community can make a tremendous difference.  If you are interested in being a career resource for Newtown High School students, please respond to the career resource link.

Career Shadow Program
Career Shadow Program - A career shadow is an opportunity for juniors and seniors to spend the day with a professional in an occupation they have an interest in pursuing. This is a one day opportunity, during the school day, in which the student will receive an excused absence, but is responsible for making up any work that is missed on that day. Students can do one career shadow per semester. The deadline for applying for a career shadow is February 1st.
